PINK Podcast #24

I went to this gig the other day, an XFM presentation and a fundraiser, featuring a bunch of popular British rock bands from the last year. I was totally un-moved by the parade of similar mediocre boys-with-guitars rot. Even their moves were poor. Did I ever really enjoy that stuff? Today I wonder if I were faking my affection for the style. As if I felt obliged to like this music because once I had liked some of it and in doing so I was tied to an very insular view of what "good" music is: as recommended by, well, the momentum of the rock canon. Thank goodness I found intelligent discourse about pop music.
