Year end lists

Now, I enjoy list making and discussing others lists as long as the debate goes beyond "how could [insert whingers favourite band here] only be number 32?!??!!?". But to think that the lists published in magazines, magazines owned by huge media conglomerates, might not reflect the actual selections of the staff? A damaging accusation to be sure, since they do suggest that the list is from staff selections, but if you're interested in authenticity and integrity the NME isn't really the place to find it.

(Actually, if you're looking for authenticity and integrity pop music isn't the place to find it)
